Summer Student Position

Rigler Law is looking to hire a summer student for 2024! We want to introduce youth to the profession of Law and provide a quality summer work experience.

We are a vibrant, growing law firm that takes serious pride in our work. We strive to have a positive, healthy, and enjoyable work environment for all team members.  Each member of the office plays a very important role and no job is more important than the next. Our team approach has proven successful and we place a great deal of emphasis on comradery.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering phones;
  • Filing;
  • Data Entry;
  • Running documents to banks, law firms, and other financial institutions;
  • General Office Duties; including light janitorial work.

Note: Job duties are subject to change as the demands of the practice change. Job duties will also be partly determined by experience and competencies demonstrated.

Job Type: Full-time (Approximately 16 Weeks) Start Date: April 2024.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with one hour lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

Successful applicants should:

  • Be mature, trustworthy, and a team player;
  • Have great organizational skills; and
  • Be fluent in English, written and verbal, with fluency in other languages being an asset.

Experienced Real Estate Conveyancer
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Primarily assisting with the Real Estate Department in both Residential and Agricultural purchases and sales;
  • Assisting in Corporate or Commercial Transactions; and/or
  • Answering phones;
  • Working with clients to provide a complete transaction from start to finish.
  • Providing administrative support to all members of the office.

Note: Job duties are subject to change as different areas of law slow down or get busier. Job duties will also be partly determined by experience and competencies demonstrated.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

We are currently looking for an experienced real estate conveyancer with at least 1 year of experience in a related field.

Successful applicants should:

  • Have good technical skills, including a complete knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications;
  • Have a strong knowledge of basic office operations;
  • Be able to handle working in a busy law practice;
  • Be mature, trustworthy, and a team player;
  • Have great organizational skills; and
  • Be fluent in English, written and verbal, with fluency in other languages being an asset.

Experienced Estate Planning and Administration Legal Assistant
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Primarily assisting with the Estate Planning  and Administration Department;
  • Drafting Estate Administration Documents, including applications for probate;
  • Prepare and facilitate the disbursing of Estates;
  • Answering phones;
  • Working with clients to provide a complete transaction from start to finish; and
  • Providing administrative support to all members of the office.

Associate Lawyer

We have offices in Grande Prairie, Fairview and Spirit River – all of which are growing and expanding rapidly. We are searching for an Associate Lawyer to join our practice to help aid across all these different regions, connect to the communities, and provide real results to all the people who put their faith in us.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum two years experience in the areas of Real Estate Law, Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Estate Planning or Estate Administration.
  • Law Degree from an accredited Canadian law school and a member in good standing with a Provincial law society.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, editing, and personable skills.
  • Highly focused, with attention to detail; a motivated self-starter.
  • Experience with and the ability to handle all phases of their area of law, including, but not limited to, Litigation.
  • Able to assist Paralegals with drafting and review of legal documents accurately.
  • Hard-working and excited to make a difference in our local communities.
  • Willing to represent and promote Rigler Law and the reputation of Rigler Law throughout their work and strive to prove that actions speak louder than words for our clients.
